Search Engine Tips

Here's how to get the best results from our search engine:

  1. To search for a portion of a word, use an asterisk. Example: To search for all words beginning with "ped", type ped*. Likewise, to search for all documents containing "ped" regardless of where it occurs within a word, use *ped*.

  2. To search for an exact PHRASE, such as "road rage," separate words with a single space. You don't need quotation marks around the phrase.

  3. To find documents containing ALL keywords, use "AND" between them:  "road AND rage."  Documents returned will contain all keywords, but not necessarily in order.

  4. To find documents containing ANY of several keywords:, use "OR" between them:  "road OR rage."  Documents will contain one or more of the words.

  5. To find documents containing one word, but NOT another word, use "NOT":  "road NOT rage."  Documents will contain the word "road" but not the word "rage."

  6. The search engine does not distinguish capital letters.

  7. For a listing of all currently indexed documents, leave the search input box blank and click on the search button.

  8. If you are looking for specific information on vehicle crash tests based on make/model/year, please visit the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety(IIHS) or the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration (NHTSA).

  9. If you are looking for AAA maps, TripTiks, etc., please visit the American Automobile Association's website.   For press inquiries, visit http://www.aaa.com/news.
